Description

I have been wanting to participate in a swap project for a couple of months.  To think, that I could make something for someone I did not know, and in return receive a treasured home-made gift in return was intrigueing. Quilting gallery has recently hosted such a swap called The Friendship Embroidery Mini-Quilt Swap.  Embroidery is something that I love to do so I joined in on the fun!!

The embroidery design was made by Lenna Green of Stitching Cow and was the required design for the swap. Other than that.. just to stay under 24" square for the finished project.  I have never done silk ribbon embroidery and used this project as an opportunity to try it. It was fun despite the challenge of getting that little silk ribbon to come through the batting and quilt top without shredding. I learned the leaf stitch.

The mini-quilt is made for my shhhhh-secret partner.  She lives in Australia.  So exciting!   I will definitely participate in more of these type of swap events.

First time to use the little Clover-clips.  How did I manage without them for so long?  I   them!

What a little treasure you made. Your swap partner is going to be thrilled! Is that essex linen you used for the gray? Sweet! And I know what you mean about the clover clips. They make such a diffference in your binding experience!

This is so beautiful! You did a great job ... love that little dragonfly in the right hand corner too :)

This is so pretty! Your embroidery is beautiful. How do you find these swaps?

Sewzalot

Thank you for the nice comments.

Terryt, the linen is English Garden Linen, that I purchased at Shabby Fabrics 50% off. It is a taupe-grey and it is just a beautiful fabric.

I haven't learned how to reply on this posting venue directly to a person yet. I will have to try to research how to do that!

Sewzalot add a + right before threaders name and no space and you will get direct link!

Ohoh. I am not understanding. And now, I need to delete my comment. I bet maybe I can find directions in the faqs.

LOL. Can't delete but you are almost there Sewzalot . Just do the + and then my name no space or anything else. OK here is an example but it is not a name of anyone on here so should show you +Andrew if that was a threader it would do the link:-)

There's a post in the Welcome to Threadbias forum that covers all the quick links you can use on the site and explains how to use them if you want to learn more - just click the little blue question mark next to the "quick link" button up in the top righthand box on your project and it will take you directly to the post smile And no delete or edit on the project comments...
