Description

This is a custom quilt I made.  The colors weren't my style, so I probably never would have made this on my own, but I loved how it turned out.  The chevron print is 'French General' dots by Moda.

I really love zig zag (Chevron) quilts...you did a great job (and I love the quilting which echos the zig zags!)

Janquilter

I love this. After my experience with zig-zags, I have a love/hate relationship with them. It is hard to tell from the photo, did you use half square triangles? I love the way the contrast really brings out the pattern. Mine is more blended, but I am liking it finally...do you like the process?

True

Love zig zags!

Caribousmom - thank you! I LOVE chevrons too! I'm doing another one...I think I may be addicted.
Janquilter - I do use half square triangles...I looked at the other method with rectangles, and it looked to cumbersome for me. I would love to see yours!!
Thanks True ! Me too!

I am so drawn to Chevron quilts and Chevron everything. I love this quilt. I am intrigued at how much I love it in that beautiful brown French General fabric. Makes me heart Chevrons even more!! I'm glad to know what method you used. hst's. Can't wait to see your next one. I love the name of your project also!

Thank you Sewzalot ! I personally would have never chose the French General, but the customer liked it, once I got it put together, I loved it too. It just makes for a great cozy look. :) Thanks for your kind words!!

Amanda

I love this, it's so simple but striking.

Someday when I grow up I'm going to make a zig zag quilt. I have pinned a whole bunch because they are so striking and I REALLY like this 2 colored one! Charlie Brown would be proud to own this one.

Terryt1955 , thank you!!! You should do one! They are super easy! :)

Terryt1955

Yeah, I don't know about the so easy part Robotmomsews . There's more to this quilt than just slapping a bunch of HST together. The seams have to match to make it work! But it definitely is on my to do list. I so want to make a red and white quilt and this would be a wonderful pattern.

Robotmomsews

Terryt1955 , It really is just slapping a bunch of HST's together..LOL. Then arranging them up for the chevron part, which is prety easy and fun. I think a red & white one would be gorgeous! When you do decide to do it, I'd love to see it. :)
I have an instructional paper from my first one I did that came with the kit I bought. It's super explanatory. If you'd like a copy, email me and I'll get it to you.
