Description

Okay I finished the feliz dress with black ruffle fabric as the under dress and an andover purple pumpkin print for the overdress.  It is really cute.  I made the size 7/8 for my daughter and it's way huge, I had to go in and adjust elastic after to make it fit better.  And the ruffle fabric is heavy! But it's cute.

First I should have cut the under dress smaller.  The ruffle fabric is knit so stretches.  Second, If done again, I'd probably do the back panel in full ruffle and then the front and side panels in another lighter weight black fabric and just add a ruffle bottom to make the part of that sticks out of the under dress still be all black ruffles.  But then again, maybe not because when she is active you could see that it's not all ruffles.  I don't know.  But I hope it fits her next halloween too.

This dress is cute. You should make another one she can wear year-round.

Mouseinmypocket I've made her several Feliz dresses. :) It's one of our favorite patterns. (This has been our all time favorite - http://www.flickr.com/photos/8941678@N08/3981839875/ Though I love the others I've made too)

That dress is AWESOME! I want one for me!

Mouseinmypocket Thanks! She still actually wears it! though she's obviously taller now. I love how different you can make them look. Another favorite has been a Christmas one where I decorated the front panel before assembly. I used tonal fabrics and no ruffles and it was so classy looking.
