Description

I made this quilt for my baby; we chose to be surprised with the sex so I tried to make it as gender neutral as possible. Flannel bought all at JoAnn, I think. This was the first quilt I'd ever completed, and I'm pretty proud of it. Not quite crib size, as I kind of winged it. Mock binding.

Such wonderful soft colors and great for either boy or girl.Don't know what mock binding is? But I see you did miter corners! That's great for a first quilt.

I read about how to do mock binding in one of the quilting books I have; it's just the backing brought to the front and folded over/sewn. But yes, mitered corners. :)

What a super sweet quilt! Terryt1955 online they also call this a self binding quilt...I just did one for first time and like now having it in my "tool" box of tricks!

Thank you for stopping by my first post.. I love this quilt.. very cute. I have never tried that mock binding.. when you do it... do you leave the batting in it also... or is just the fabric brought over to the front? I love the colors also. heart_decoration

Hi, Joy! You're supposed to trim the batting back so it doesn't get too bulky when you bring the back around to the front. This was especially true for this quilt because the top and back are flannel. :)
