Description

I wrote up a tutorial on my blog a year and a half ago on how to make these, and it went viral.  Well, viral for a small blogger like myself.  Anyway, after lots and lots of requests for me to put them in my shop, I finally made a few batches.  They are so fast and easy- perfect for scraps too.  I actually use mine more for holding my gift and loyalty cards, but I just got a new set of business cards that can't wait to be at home in their own fabric holder!

These are great- what a wonderful idea- and thanks for the tutorial! I could see having several made for different categories of cards- right now mine are cluttering up a bulletin board- into the organizers they go!

True

I love these and since have to carry them for my work I am going to have to make myself one...or two or three thank you!

Rebecca

Oh, I've seen your tutorial before- it's great! Just thinking, these would be fun for a swap item!

True

OMG Rebecca yes, yes, yes!!!!

Rebecca

True I'll put that on the list then! (I'm thinking the next one after pincushions might not be until after the Holiday season -starting in January)

Rebecca I thought the same thing as soon as I saw these little treasures. Melcollette You are such a treat to have on here. Thank you for sharing your talent!

Melcollette

Aw, shucks! Thanks! Rebecca , I would love to see people passing these around :)

Kristananne

These are wonderful! I already know I'm gonna make a handful to use as gift card holders for holiday gift giving time!

True

Kristananne I was thinking same thing!

Lame question here. When youwere sewing the button on how did you avoid sewing the pocket> Wasn;t it hard to get your hand inbetween the pocket and the front piece to sew?

Quilt455

love these, so cute

True

Terryt1955 Really good question! Yes Melcollette how did you do button?

Terryt1955

Oh good, I'm not the only one wondering how to get that button sewed on. Thanks True for watching my back!

Melcollette

Terryt1955 and True ... not a lame question. The hand that was NOT holding the needle and thread was both smooshing the fabric out of the way (practically folding it inside out) and holding the card holder at the same time. Dexterity at its finest! Although, placing the button a little higher and figuring out where you want it in the very beginning would let you sew it on by machine (a zig-zag stitch set at 0) before you even begin sewing the layers together. As long as your presser foot won't hit the button as you sew it up, it can be done as the first step.

Terryt1955

Mystery solved. Thanks! Now I just need to master the dexterity part.

Melcollette Thank you I will be practicing your techniques soon;-)
