Description

I'm pulling out an old UFO to finish and donate to a charity as a part of 100 Quilts for Kids (Swim, Bike, Quilt blog).  The fabric is called Nature's Chorus by April Cornell for Moda.  The top is done, just needs quilting and binding.

September 18, 2012:  Quilted, bound, washed, dried.  This is not my best work though, so I feel bad donating it.  It was one of my very first quilts ever, and I can tell how inexperienced I was back then.  After drying it, some of the seams actually came loose.  I am definitely going to fix those, probably with some butterflies appliqued on over top (iron-on + hand quilting).

What size will this be? I have a few UFO's as well but don'tknow if the size is appropriate.

Kristananne

Terryt1955 I think it's about 35" x 45". It was meant to get borders and be throw sized, but I'm skipping that so it will be a good toddler/kid size.

Wow you are fast at getting back! Thanks for the dimensions.AND P.S. I think this will be a very sweet quilt with it's pretty floral fabric.

Terryt1955 Haha, I was blogging so I was online and got the notification. :) Thanks!

What a pretty quilt for a great cause!

'Imperfections' are one of the many things that make a handmade item one of a kind and special. Strengthening those seams with some applique is the perfect solution. Don't feel bad donating, the child that receives this quilt will cherish it more than you could ever imagine ('imperfections' and all!) :)

So pretty- and hey- I had a patch sewn in wrong side up once (it was hard to tell on the fabric) and so I wound up appliqueing a bunny over it- it worked- we know about the imperfections- hopefully the recipients just know they love it:)- and I know they will love this quilt!
