Each month I make a donation mini quilt for the Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative Quilt a Month Club. These mini quilts need to measure 9x12" or smaller and profits from the sale of these mini's help to fund Alzheimer's research .
For my September 2012 quilt, I digitized a dress design inspired by a photo that I came across online. I stitched out four variations of the dress and then stitched them together. I added a thin upper border and a wider lower border which was then embroidered with the phrase "A Girl Can Never Have Too Many Dresses".
I finished this in plenty of time to get it registered before the deadline, which is the 20th of each month.
9-17-12 I just added one more photo of the completed project. I decided that it needed just a bit more, so I added a white snowflake button in the center and a row of purple buttons along the top to fill in the pink strip of fabric. I think these additions help to give the quilt better balance.
