Description

This is a quilt I hope to work on over a long period of time, between other quilts and projects. I plan to paper piece what my husband calls a Ninja Star. It is a Dancing Arrows pattern purchased from PiecebyNumberQuilts on Etsy. I want to really take my time with this one since there is no real time crunch.  I will be using the California Girl fabric bundle.  I have no idea how I will arrange the colors yet— I have played around with squares showcasing the coral fabric but I think I will be creating multiple colored stars instead. Now that I see there's also a pinwheel I really want to bring that out as well- I think it will add a lot to the balance of the quilt. The thing is I'm a beginner so I want to really take my time making this one "right".   :)

Though I really want to make this quilt, I have some others that have to take priority (as gifts for others). Since this one is for myself and it's also a lot more complicated I'm going to hold off. I have all the fabric though so I can't wait to piece it together!

I think this fabric will look better as a double wedding ring quilt. I'm going to save the ninja star for another project.

Ooooh, this is going to be great - can't wait to see your interpretation :)

Chrissybugs

That is an awesome block. Fun fabrics!

Quilt455

Love the fabrics. I think I need to learn paper piecing if I can get blocks to look like that.

I was told to hold off on it because it is so hard, but I have found it to be the opposite! It requires some thinking but the end result is so worth it. :)

I have a feeling that the person who told you to hold off has underestimated you!

You're doing fabulous! Paper piecing is great for beginners, glad you didn't listen on holding off. : wink: It's always so refreshing to see the excitement of new quilters. Watching them learn, plan, improve, and frantically add new ideas to a quickly growing to-do list....okok, all of us sew-ers are guilty of that last bit. smirk Your blocks are beautiful and I'm glad you aren't letting yourself be held back. Your doing great Jessicalam ! Keep it up! :)

Ditto others... You are doing a beautiful job! Sometimes people are not as helpful as they think they are and so glad you didn't listen!!

What an amazing star block, so different to the usual ones, I love it, and what you are doing with it.

Sweetdreamsbysarah
