Description

This is my to-go hand project :) I started it in 2002 when I had lots of spare time on my hand. I'm working on it when we go on vacation and  in the car for days at  times, or relaxing at the beach of fishing. Just for the record, I don't fish. I sew. :) The top is pretty much done and I'm at the deciding stage of making the borders straight, or just leaving it like the way it is now. Another dilemma is what technique to use. And THEN, how to quilt it :) Originally I wanted to master longarming for this one, but the place I was planning to rent  the machine from closed down. Bummer! Now another just opened up with HQ machines, which I took a class on and loved it. So probably that's the way I'll  go. I was considering trying my hands on hand quilting, but I think it would take FOREVER to finish it, it's a queen size...
I made the templates from  empty milk bottles myself. There was no way I'll buy a few hundreds of these. I should count how many do I have in the quilt right now just for the fun of it :) I wrote a tutorial about the method I was using making the hexagons and flowers.

Caribousmom The good thing is, I love doing handwork! I still prefer the sewing machine when I'm home since it's so much faster! Thanks for you kind words! :)
