Description

Thought I would post this project, since we just hung it up for the Autumn Equinox.

This was a internet block swap done in 1996! That was back when we had dial-up internet and were living in Japan. I can't recall where the swap hostess lived, but it was in the USA. My block uses Japanese fabrics. It's in the bottom left row.

All the blocks I received came from:

Humble, TX
Cherokee, IA
Rabun Gap, GA
Coloma, MI
Phoenix, AZ
Spearfish, SD
Fairfield, GA
Baytown, TX
Queensland, Australia
Tokyo, Japan

One photo shows the back of the quilt and the labels everyone sent with their swap blocks.

The center point of the leaf was done by foundation/paper piecing.

As someone who grew up in NH and am now in California...I miss the gorgeous fall colors in autumn...I LOVE this wall hanging to brighten the wall in fall. I may have to make one of these!!

Oh I love this! Plus, super cool because it was a swap from so long ago! Would anyone be interested in a small swap of these blocks, or a similar leaf? Caribousmom , True ?

True

Rebecca I would!! I have always wanted to do something like this and never have so that would get me in gear!

True Me too - I have this really complex leaf quilt I've always wanted to make (I think someone posted one here not too long ago) and I've never tackled it. But would love something simple as well and leaves just seem to lend themselves to scrappy so a swap works great.

Caribousmom

Rebecca I would definitely be interested...as long as it did not happen until November or later :)
