Description

I made this top just after I had learned to use a rotary cutter. It was also the year my youngest daughter was born. She turns 17 next week. I'm glad to see it finally quilted and finished and hanging on the wall. It's made entirely out of half-square triangles. The quilting pattern is "Trinaty's Feather" by Linda Taylor--it reminds me of banana feathers.

This is stunning! I've made a Hunter's star before but it didn't come out anything as beautiful as this. I like the use of all the shades of the neutrals and how they set off the brights. Did you do the quilting yourself? If so congrats! It looks great.

I've never seen this pattern before - I love how you placed the colors. I feel like every time I look at it I see it in a new way.

What a beautiful quilt! I love all the colors and the pattern is great...looks so complicated. That is one I would like to try.

Janquilter Sewexcitedquilts True Amanda Tjzoriginalz Thanks for your comments, everyone! Yes, I did quilt it on my longarm--you can see it on my machine in my avatar. The original Hunter's Star quilt block is much more complicated--set-in seams and all. Do a google search/images and you'll see what I mean. Doing the pattern in HST made it MUCH simplier!
