Description

2011: I waited too long to buy any of the Heather Ross's Mendocino fabric and by the time I was ready to commit it was impossible to find any it or if I could find it, it was $40 a yard... a bit rich for my blood. However I have friends with greater foresight then I, who purchased some then took pity on me and gave me their scraps. I gratefully took them and found the perfect pattern to work with the small bits: Love bubbles! Now I just need to assemble it.
Sept. 30, 2012: Even though the pattern is technically called Love Beads, I just can't call it that. I think I lived in SF too long.   Besides, love bubbles is cute and works with the whole underwater theme.

What a good way of using scraps and the name is perfect! I didn't know fabric in the US can cost so much. I drool over Kaffe Fassett's fabrics and don't buy them, because they are $35 a metre here.

Sewnsew normally fabric runs anywhere from $8 - $12 a yard. However due to the rarity and the fact that they didn't reprint this line even though there was (and is) still a very high demand for it, those people who still had FQ's or yards of it could (and were) selling it at exorbitant prices of $40 or more.
I just checked Etsy and FQ's are now going for $22 and $50 for less then a yard of it. If I'd only known, I would've bought bolts of the stuff! lol

lol You could have made a fortune!
