Description

This is Nash from the book Another Bite of Schnibbles.  I always give my quilts new names.  This one had me completely stumped until I was watching Highlander 3: The Final Conflict last weekend.  The main character's alias is Nash; he has a sword forged in Japan and since I very rarely make more than one quilt from a pattern, the catch cry of the movies "There can be only one." fits.....Hence the name of the quilt.

All the pieces are sewn into rows.  Hopefully I will manage to crib a bit of time during the week to get the rows sewn together.

As soon as Lestat heard the camera coming out of the case, he flew out of the next room onto the table and began the serious business of inspecting the quilt.

24/10/12
The top is finished and the quilting is started.  Huzzah for basting spray!

27/10/12
On the home run.....Just need to sew the binding down at the back and add a sleeve.

3/11/12
I finished sewing on the sleeve this evening.  It is done!

Tjoel2

Looks like one of my kitties!

Sewnsew

lol Tjoel2 He thinks everything quilt related belongs to him.

True

This is very pretty...and I see you have a fabric holder very similar to mine;-)

Sewnsew

Thank you, True . lol He is very efficient.....and enjoys helping me try different layouts.....as you can see here! LOL

True

Sewnsew Mine sometimes does not like my layout so takes it all and knocks it off the table and onto the floor...likes his ideas are better than mine;-) I have another who tries to steal the pins from my pin cushion and another who steals the spools of threads! I sometimes feel like if they all gang up at once I will no longer be in charges!

Sewnsew

True I was laughing out loud when I read this. Nothing is safe when they are around, is it? Lestat knocks anything off the table that he can get his little paws on.....It is almost like having a toddler around making sure everything is "cat proof". I wouldn't swap what he does for anything, though.

True

Sewnsew My pets provide me with hours of entertainment so I so agree don't know what I would do without them!

Sewnsew

True I couldn't have said it better myself! Before I had Lestat (he is eleven) I thought cats were pretty standoffish. I was so wrong! I'm sure you know, too, how they have distinct personalities.

True

Sewnsew Oh yes I have always had cats and NONE have been alike and the 4 we have now are a different in looks and personalities as can be...one is the queen, one the clown, one terrifed of all but sweet and loves the dogs and one just a big love bug.

True

This is getting more gorgeous with time (and work;-). And I am so glad it has also been properly inspected...Sebago says "good work Lestat;-)"

Sewnsew

True Thank you! I don't know what I would do without the quality control! Lestat says "Thank you Sebago!"

Janquilter

I love the colors in this...and I am loving the cat tales.

Sewnsew

Janquilter Thank you! Lestat is an indoor cat and thinks everything is his. lol

Mouseinmypocket

the quilt is looking good. glad I'm not the only one with a cat that won't leave my projects alone.

Sewnsew

Mouseinmypocket Thank you! lol It is like an obsession for them, isn't it?

True

Maybe we need a support group for our feline friends;-)

Sewnsew

True Can you imagine if they got together and shared strategies? lolol

True

Sewnsew OMG LOL

Sewnsew

True It doesn't bear thinking about, does it? lololol

Sewnsew

Carolmarie Thank you! I'm really enjoying it. I'll be starting to hand sewing the back and sleeve over the next couple of nights and am looking forward to adding it to the finished list. Lestat is a real little character and considers everything in the house his. lol He is an indoor cat and will be 12 in January.....I think he has reached crazy old man status!

Sewnsew

Carolmarie Yes, they are just like little people. lol They just can't resist fabric and paper can they? When he was a kitten, he would jump on the table and try to shred student work that I was marking! I was glad to get him out of that habit! lol I've been hand sewing the back of the binding on Renfield's Larder this week, so his latest ploy is to sit and meow at me, like he wants to sit on my lap for a cuddle. When I put the quilt down he loses interest and walks off! lolol

Suddenlysandra

I recognize that kitty cat from your blog - hi, Lestat! He's such a handsome quilt inspector, lol!

Sewnsew

Suddenlysandra Sew glad to see you here! Lestat says hi! lol Yes, he is!

Strandkorbtraum

I think I need a few cats and dogs to belnd in better ..

Sewnsew
True

Sewnsew What a finish!!!! Congrats and so pretty...and clearly our cats are talking behind the scenes as that act like you want to something so Mom stops what she is doing and then walk away trick is very active here!! And LOL Strandkorbtraum I can send you some dog hair if it would help;-)

Sewnsew

True Thank you! lol I agree with you completely about the cats. I think it is time we changed the passwords on our computers. It'll stop them skyping.

Strandkorbtraum

ahh no thanks True .. I think I have a plush Jaguar somewhere, looks almost like a cat and is hairfossfree and low maintenance
