When I saw the Fly a Kite fabric from Riley Blake, I knew that a springtime kite quilt was in order. Really, it was absolutely necessary :) So, I got to work! This quilt was a first of many things for me, including:
writing my own pattern
buying fabric at full retail price (gulp!)
using a large amount of backround fabric that wasn't Kona White
posting a qult for sale instead of gifting it
I'm pretty sure my pattern-writing skills have much to improve on, but I am really pleased with how this colorful spring quilt full of flying kites came together. I am hoping to get this pattern to a point where I can market that too, but in the meantime, I'm just enjoying the process of making quilts!
Very pretty! I love your binding choice.
Cute! The quilting reminds me of puffy clouds behind the kites.
I love the Fly a Kite line. I have plans for a spring-y quilt too. It's perfect for a picnic blanket!
Very nice! I love the fabric, especially the backing and binding! Clever idea for a pattern!
Very pretty and sweet
This is such a fun and cheerful quilt!
This is such a happy quilt. I hope to see your pattern soon because there's no way I could ever draft one. I can see this in my grandson's room so get cracking!
