Description

This is a charity quilt top I made.  When meth labs are raided the kids are taken out of the home but are not allowed to bring any of their things because of the chemical contamination.  This group in the area makes bags for the kids that include a quilt, some toys, toiletries, a bag to hold them all.  They always seem to have a shortage of quilts appropriate for boys so when I saw this BMX fabric I thought it would be perfect.  The group does the quilting so my part is now done.

I found the pattern in American Patchwork and Quilting Feb. 2011 issue 108.  It is called Citrus and was designed by Ann Weber of Gingham Girls (Ginghamgirls.biz).  Cute, easy pattern that isn't too fussy.

What a great idea for a boy and what a great cause!

Love the pattern, it showcases the fabrics so well and gives a masculine feel to the quilt. Great colors. The idea is great too, in our area there are groups that provide teddy bears and some quilts bu I have not heard the idea of a whole bag of stuff! I think I will pass that along to the guild here.
