I had this little clam shell project for a while and was hoping to do it with hexies, but that was a massive fail. So I decided to just use bits of solid fabrics instead and had these scraps from the coasters I made a while back.
The instructions and plastic innards are part of the Clover Clam Shell Accessories package (available through LQSs) and really easy to follow along with.
All the hand-stitching was enjoyable for me, but I always like sewing by hand. It got a bit tough sewing the sides together and I resorted to using bulldog clips to hold it so I could easily move it around to get the needle in/out and hide the stitches. I would definitely use a curved needle and would go out of my way to buy one if I ever decide to make another. Would have made it a lot easier, I'm sure.
All in all, a fun project that only took a few hours while watching TV on a Saturday morning. :) Think I'm gonna use it to store jewelry in since I don't have much, but I am always losing earrings in my make-up bag. Problem solved!
