Description

Each month I make a donation mini quilt for the Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative Quilt a Month Club.  These mini quilts need to measure 9x12" or smaller and profits from the sale of these mini's help to fund Alzheimer's research .
For my October 2012 quilt, I was inspired by a mini made by Flickr member mamacjt   (http://www.flickr.com/photos/35289170@N06/6996555450/in/photostream/).  I used raw edge applique and free motion quilting. This was my first time making a pieced binding.  This piece also gave me the opportunity to practice filling in the negative space (of the orange border) with more free motion quilting.
Quilt A Month Club submissions need to be registered by the 20th of each month, I am always cutting it close but manage to finish and register by or before the deadline.

Awesome! My guild donated minis to AAQI a few months ago - it's a great organization! Our guild president actually scans quilts for their website!

I love your mini here - and as the grandchild of someone who suffers from Alzheimer's - Thanks! :)

wonderful and very inspiring. I like your freemotion quilting and the mixed binding. Makes it even more playful.
