Description

Made for a friend's new baby. I used a tutorial found at "don't call me betsy"s blog for "star crossed" block. Fabrics are kona solids, Art gallery oval elements, and Riley Blake chevrons and ombré dots. Measures 36x42. Forgive the poorly lit photos! The sun was not cooperating and I had to gift it before I could try again for better pix:)

Wow what a transformation the quilt took on with all your tight quilting. It's almost like it wasn't the same quilt.I agree with Caribousmom , the centered stars with all that wonderful white for quilting is beautiful! And the backing was such a pop of surprise. The baby is going to love looking at that for sure.

thank you all for your lovely comments! I had just purchased Angela Walter's new FMQ book when i quilted this one and had fun trying different designs in my quilt. previously, i had usually done straight lines or an all over meandering pattern, but i had fun with the quilting on this one and did a different design within each "plus" block and did a wishbone type loop in the first border and then my good old meander for the outer borders. the white background did make a fun canvas!
