I have a large stash of fabric, doilys and linens, cushion inserts, laces, etc., and have dreamed for a long time of making things to sell either online or at markets or both. A change in our family's financial position has given me the kick um, I mean motivation, I need to Just Start. So I matched some thrifted fabric with doilys and started cutting two days ago. Naturally Battenburg and Naturally Floral are the first two completed cushions.
The fabric is linen-like but non-crease so I think it's a blend of something. It is a thrift store find. The battenburg doily is also thrifted and rather 'rustic' in it's execution which adds to it's charm. The cushion is a simple envelope closure. I have shaped the corners slightly to avoid 'ears'.
The inserts are new Rapee "Bouncing Cushion" pillows 20" x 20".
My dad popped in for a visit just as I was starting these and has, sight unseen, pre-ordered my first 6 finished cushions. A paying customer already!!
