Description

This was inspired by all of the chevron patterns that started popping up last year. Made this with a beautiful Central Park fabric that has cute little zoo animals and fun colors. This is for a baby or toddler, for sale in my shop.

Love the chevrons and "stripes" of color! I started a chevron quilt quite a while ago with a different method and gave up since I just couldn't get it to piece together correctly. This 1/2 square triangle method looks great, even with the directional fabrics.

Nicole

thanks! i have a "tutorial" on my old blog on how to make it - http://thecraftytraveler.wordpress.com/2011/06/23/chevron-quilt/
it was very easy and actually pretty quick to make. Hope to see pics of your finished one!

Dideemay

A gorgeous quilt. I love your fabric choice.

Ssummerer

I love the chevron stripes of color that you created. The chevron and bright, happy colors gives it such a modern look.

Thanks guys! blush
I can't take too much credit for the fabric combo, it was a charm pack of central park By Kate Spain for moda, actually not even sure you can buy it anywhere.....worth looking for again! It's still one of my favorites, so bright and cheerful and perfect for a boy or girl. I'm wondering if anyone on eBay or etsy has some for sale, because I would love to make a pinwheel quilt with this one.

I love this quilt! The happy colours contrasted with the fresh white look great. I made a baby quilt for my daughter using the zoo print - so cute!

Nicole

I love the zoo print! I would love to see a photo of that baby quilt if you have one.

Ok, Nicole, I've added the project just for you! I'm going to try quick links for the first time so you can go straight to my baby quilt project: Ellie's strip-pieced baby quilt

I love this quilt and the fabric...making one is on my wish list. I just saw a charm pack of this material for sale the other night when looking for another collection I realized I needed more of...ok just looked at history it is at Mama's Log House online.

Nicole

This is super cute. Did you start with a charm pack or layer cake for your HSTs?

Nicole

I usually use charm packs if I get any precuts, so so easy to work with!

This is a terrific quilt - and love that fabric! True I couldn't find it at that site :(

Caribousmom I found it three months ago so not surprised it is gone:-( I know you can still find yardage at different shops online...

Really cute...and it is pushing me toward making a zig-zag now that the twin tops are done.
