Double Wedding Ring by Cinda
Double wedding ring
I took a class with John Flynn years ago at the Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival in Williamsburg, VA (will add pattern info when I dig it out). He was an engineer before he was a quilter so designed a unique and speedy way to make this quilt. Basically you strip piece the curved sections and then sew over the seams again at an angle to get the patch to curve. Then you sew it to the background fabrics which are cut using his die-cut acrylic templates. I bought lots of fabric because I loved this print and had some great idea of coming out of class with a full-size quilt (needless to say, this was very early in my quilting career)! So...I will probably do a wall hanging or table topper with four or so of these blocks and then find another use for that beautiful fabric!
