Description

On a trip last year to Primitive Gatherings in Wisconsin, I picked up this pattern along the way.  It is a cathedral window table topper made with 64 dark charm squares and 72 light charm squares.  It is quilt as you go soft edge applique.

This is quite a fascinating quilt. I don't think I have ever seen this technique. The result is great.

I'd never attempt the original cathedral window, but this technique was fun and easy.

True

This is lovely what does soft edge appliqué mean?

I call it "raw edge" but the pattern describes it as soft edge. You simply top stitch 1/4" from outside raw edge and then run the completed piece thru the washing machine. It comes out fuzzy and soft.

I love the look of the raw edge applique. I've never seen a cathedral window with that look, and I like it much better. Great project.
