Description

This was a mystery quilt done monthly with our quilt guild last year. I used various orange, green and indigo blue Japanese fabrics. I made some matching pillowcases with the leftover border fabric. The long blue pillow is an Amy Butler pattern--Midwest Mod Pillows.

I did a mock piped binding. It's super easy & all machine sewing. There is a tutorial on how to do it here, although I used slightly different proportions.

True

This is a gorgeous quilt...can we see more pictures?!

Chrissybugs

Beautiful quilt! I also love the pillow. Your time in Japan served you well.

Aizome

True Thanks, True! Will get some more photos up. It is basically a 2 block quilt, set on point.

Aizome

Chrissybugs Thanks, Chrissy! Yes, most of my stash is Japanese fabrics. It didn't make sense for me to buy American fabrics in Japan, if you know what I mean. wink

Janquilter

Lovely!! I think all the colors work together so well.

Aizome

Janquilter Thanks, Jan! I used the tried & true method: started with the border fabric and picked the colors from there.

Janquilter

LOVE that method!! Seems to work every time.

Terryt1955

These fabrics are to die for! Beautiful quilt that did the fabric justice.

Aizome

Terryt1955 Thanks, Terry! I finally have a quilt on my own bed!

Sewzalot

You are a very talented long-arm quilter. I love your quilting!

Aizome

Sewzalot Thank you, Sewzalot! I quilted this one on my home sewing machine. It was quite a task, being queen sized!

Caribousmom

Those colors! Wonderful!! This is a really pretty quilt - love the blocks on point.

Caribousmom Thanks, Caribousmom! I do love looking at this quilt every morning when I make the bed!
