These are so cute, nice stitching! Isn't it nice to have a little portable project?
Cute! I don't know anything about embroidery but I think this group is such an inspiration. Are you using the same stitch except for the eyes? I like the smaller eyes, they're better proportioned.
Oh yes, what kind of marking pen do you use?
Terryt1955 in the original pic I had used too many strands of floss for the eyes so thy ended up huge! :) The pen is the blue water soluble fabric marking pen from the notions section in Joanns...probably Dritz brand. Can't remember for sure.
Terryt1955 oh and all the stitches are backstitch except the eyes which are French knots.
Backstitch really! They must be teeny tiny. So precise! The first eyes made the poor little guy look like he had thyroid disease. So have you been hand stitching long or did you just dive into it with this group?
I've been stitching for a few months now. Still learning and trying to get used to getting even stitches of equal length! Which is why all my back stitches are so tiny and close together.
They are so cute, i will be starting mind soon, hopefully today.
So cute! I might need to do some embroidery soon.
You're stitches look great! I still have some trouble getting my backstitches even.
Your* rather...autocorrect is a dreadful thing. Also! I love how tiny your french knots ended up. I think I used too many strands for mine.
Allegorical If you look at the other photo, those eyes were HUGE!! I had used all 6 strands for them. I took them out and did only 2 and was satisfied. I think I like them tiny too! :)
By "the other photo" I mean the one where I had just started and only had the acorn looking thing done.
They really show in the acorn! I used three for mine and my acorn has some big lookin' eyes. The tiny 2 strand ones are perfect.
