First thoughts - the rail fence border needs some points to tie it in with the centre. One possibility would be to take 2 of the blocks & combine them to make 1/4 square triangles? I will see if I can have a play to show what I mean.
Ok, had the play, you can find my solution here in here A place for odds & ends of pictures getting it to fit could be interesting, but it uses what you already have. Now over to someone else ;)
Posyp I think that I need to use different fabrics for that round. Not happy with the greens and blues. I did like how you chopped the blocks, I may do that and turn them into a small quilt.
I agree that different colors are need for this part of quilt. When I look at your other work your use of color (and design) is what stands out so beautifully and I think this one needs that same touch:-) Now no idea what ones but I bet you will figure it out and it was sparkle:-)
Sblprl1 perhaps you need to use some of the light background in this border then, as perhaps what you are missing is contrast.
I know I'm late to the game on this one, but I think that using some of the white background with some black (like in the breaking border), along with just enough of the blue and green to tie it into the center medallion could really make your borders sing!
