Description

Three different things came together in this quilt: Back in May I finished piecing the individual Farmer's Wife blocks. I missed them! Last CHristmas I got the Dear Jane book, and I've been trying to decide on a colour scheme  - it's between black, white and red; green and white or a rainbow. Very good friends announced they were expecting a little boy and that his nursery was going to be green.

So I decided to make them a quilt. Farmer's Wife blocks. White and Green.

The majority of the blocks are rotary cut, but some of my favourites needed to be foundation pieced (I don't do templates). I decided to learn freezer paper foundation piecing - I love it! This will definitely come in useful when I start my Dear Jane!

I made one block at the end of June, then ignore it for a while - Sebastian wasn't due until October.

Sebastian decided to arrive early on 24th August. So I got back to his quilt!

I made 35 blocks with all the different greens in my stash and an off white Kona. I sashed it with the same off-white.

I wanted to straight line quilt it - kind of a practice for my full size Farmer. After the first few lines I was ready to pull it all out, but I persevered and I love the result!

True It was a bit of a practice as I have a DJ planned in this colour way and wanted to try it and then friends announced they were expecting and the colour was green! Perfect!

Very nice quilt! I never would have thought doing it all in different hues of one colour. Great idea!

Stitchcat Thank you very much!

Great job! I also like the green theme and I really like how you set the blocks with straight quilting emphasizing each block!

Capetowngirl thank you very much! It was intersting to do a quilt in a single colour way!
