Description

I made this quilt to keep my grandma's family recipes close at hand and in remembrance of her. These are recipes that have been passed down and are enjoyed by my kids and other family members...ones I'm often requested to make.

I took copies of the recipe cards and newspaper clippings and printed them out on fabric. Also added a picture of my grandma and a Danish flag as an homage to her heritage.

I could go for some Ableskiver....or rubber pancakes!! :P

Well since you weren't home the last time I made them at your house but I did save you some. Get the ingredients and Ill make some Sunday when I come over.

True

What a great idea! I has to google ableskiver but oh my wish I had some to try!

Quiltnwool

You really do have to try them they are the best.

Quilt455

Just totally love this idea.

wonderful idea, quilting & food just go together so often. So where is this recipe for ableskiver then? ;)

Sewexcitedquilts

This is an awesome idea! What a special way to remember.

AllPatchedUp

Posyp Bahahah...we'll have abelskiver converts all over the world in no time!!! :D

Quiltnwool

Posyp I'll give you the recipe. Just know it takes forever to make them. lol

Sewexcitedquilts Yes it was a special thing for me as my grandma raised me. We also shared the same birthdays. She was special to anyone who met her. Not only that but I got sick of everyone in the family calling me up asking how did grandma do this or that. Seemed I was the only one for a long time who knew how she cooked.

Posyp

Quiltnwool Thanks, I look forward to it ;)

AllPatchedUp

Quiltnwool lol seems like you're still the only one who knows how she cooked! ;) Yep, I'm a slacker in this category too. (I know I could/have, I just prefer mom's cooking!! smirk )

Stitch

Wonderful keepsake!

Quiltnwool

Allpatchedup your baby brother made them for me one mothers day. Whats worse is you bought the pan to make them in and I was the first to use it. :)

AllPatchedUp

Quiltnwool Shhhhh!! Not my fault you made them here while I was away! :P
