Description

My husband loves all the J.R. Tolkien books.  He had mentioned to me that he had seen some sketches by Tolkien that related to emblems or heraldic devices from his book The Silmarillion.  For our 20th wedding anniversary, I re-draw each tiny sketch and reproduced them using a fusible applique.  I hand-stitched every pieced of applique, some pieces of which were only 5mm big.  My husband loved it, thank goodness!

This is absolutely fabulous - how long did it take you? And how big are each of the blocks? Marvellous!

Hallanne44

Jenniesthreads Each block is 12". The very first bock had the most applique pieces at 76. Thank you for your comments! I'm glad you like it.

Totally fabulous job! You have a lot of patience and even more talent. Glad your husband loves it, but if he didn't you could probably sell it on e-bay for several hundred dollars! LOL, like you would give that up.
