Description

I joined the U R Priceless Blog Hop organized by Madame Samm at www.sewwequilt.com.  The challenge for this hop was to use the patternn Mdm Samm provided to make a purse, or two or three.  These little purses are like potato chips; you can't make just one!

I had never made a purse where you had to handstitch the handles onto the bag itself so I found it interesting, and the first one a bit challenging but they came out cute and will make nice Christmas gifts.

Carolmarie , they are not hard to make. Poking the needle up in through the inside of the handle frame is the hardest but I wouldn't call it difficult by any means. Doesn't it look sweet with my pinnie?

True

These are way too cute...I just love them and your pin cushion of course!

I love that black and white sewing machine fabric. Where did you get it?

Quilterinmotion

Speattle . I bought the black and white sewing machine fabric at a brand new quilt shop in Louisville, KY called Cozy Quilts (I'm pretty sure that was the name). The fabric was a FQ and I just checked...no selvage writing on it. Sorry!

True . Thanks. They are fun to make and I think the daughter and daughter in law will like theirs. No one is getting the b/w and yellow one...mine, all mine! LOL

I followed that little blog hop they had... Well really it was big. I love your bags. Very cute.

Where can one find the pattern for this?

Quilterinmotion

Speattle , if you want that exact pattern, I believe it is available on the "SewWeQuilt blog. www.sewwequilt.blog where the Blog Hop originates. I remember seeing something about it one time I was over there. If you just want to use those 3 1/2" handles, there's a different shape bag at www.zakkalife.blogspot.com. Search "fabric yoyo coin purse" when you get to her site. Hope this helps!

The first link doesn't go anywhere. I'll keep looking to see if I can find it.

Speattle . Duh, I wasn't very good with that address. It is www.sewwequilt.com not blog. Sorry.

These are wonderful. I've wanted to make one for awhile. I even bought the little frames but have been intimidated. I've got to give it a go!
