Description

I'm not usually a fan of fall colors so as a result I have nothing to put out for Thanksgiving. This year I found some cute pumpkin ideas on Pinterest and decided it was time to make a fall table runner. Of course I'm using the same pattern I used for my Halloween and Christmas table runner because that's the kind of gal I am. Find something good and run it into the ground! Or more like, once I finally "get" a pattern I want to repeat it to make life easier rather than hunting down a new one and figuring it out.

I didn't want to invest in a lot of fall fabric so I relied on what was in my stash. I probably would have liked to use a metallic gold for the corner stones but didn't have any. Note to self: get some for future projects. I also didn't have the right color of thread or I'd be quilting this up as we speak. Don't you just hate not having the right supplies on hand when you're on a roll?

11/15/12 Finished the quilting and binding today. This will be going on the buffet table for Thanksgiving. Once I put on the binding I was happier with it since it toned down the fall colors that I'm not so crazy about.

I love this runner. Bummer you don't like the colors....I love them!! It's very nice Terryt.

Rebeccajeffsmith

I like this too. I love fall colors anyway. You did a nice job!!!

Sandyquiltz

Serious like! Are those 2 1/2" strips?

Terryt1955

Thanks Conniharns and Rebeccajeffsmith ! The colors are growing on me, kind of! My mom will flip over it and I'll give it to her. She'll keep it up all year round.

Sandyquiltz , yes it uses 2 1/2 " strips and the center is a 10 3/8" square. I am going to use some left over jelly strips for future one in colors I like!

Sandyquiltz

Thanks, +Terryt1955--could you link to the pattern? I have a boatload of strips I'd like to find new ways to use in smaller projects (a few jelly rolls, mostly from strip exchanges and my own scraps). I have a bunch of books on it, but table runners are a great gift and I like this design. I'm sure your Mom will love it!

Oops. Always forget not to put a dash next to the name for the link to appear. That would be, Thanks, Terryt1955 ....

Sandyquiltz it's under the tutorial. If that doesn't get you there it's from mccallsquilting.com and it's called Monster Munchies.
