Description

Thisqueen size  quilt was created as a gift for a special friend.  The inspiration was the William Morris border print.  The style is more traditional than most of my quilts and I found that I really enjoyed it.  The batt is wool and the quilting designs were chosen to reflect the feel of the fabric.

I agree with True . The border material is amazing. I had never heard of Willian Morris before so thanks for introducing me to him. I'll be checking him out for sure!

hmm I only know William Morris tapestries - but if the fabric looks similar it's great. I read a cahpter last week in a book on how to use border prints to get those kind of prism effects ... now I just need to get my hands on some border prints..
That's a lovely quilt you made - but then I like geometry, and traditional quilts tend to use a lot of it ...

True Thanks - that was the first fabric that I chose. To make the corners work I measured all four sides from the center - and surprised myself when it worked so well.

Terryt1955 Thanks - William Morris has an interesting history and when I first saw the fabrics it reminded me of tapestrys.

Strandkorbtraum Thanks - lots of triangles that I sew a bit big and trim to size which let me enjoy the process, not fight getting units that aren't perfect to fit.
