Description

My daughter is an incredibly talented young woman running her own business in Portland. She was so happy I was sewing again and wanted me to make her a quilt. After picking out the fabric, she told me that she didn't want it to look like a quilt. UGH! It took me forever to figure out what to do but once I made a plan I finally finished it (only the second quilt I ever made) and she loved it! I sent this out to be quilted by "Stichin' Together".

So pretty!

Kathie

Thank you! It was my first quilt smile .

What does a quilt that doesn't look like a quilt look like? Talk about a tall order! This is lovely, it looks fabulous!

Kathie

Craftiebee I didn't know either, especially since I was just beginning. I checked with all the LQS's in my area and even at some of the big shows. I'm a researcher and even checked out a steam punk type (my daughter loves that). I had one design started and my youngest said her sister would hate it, so I ended up with this. She says she loved it, whew!
I'm glad you like it, thank you.

I some how missed this quilt until now and I love it...would have had no clue what to do with those instructions though;-). But it sure is a gorgeous quilt and quite the job for a first one!!

Kathie

True thank you! I had the yardage she picked out and then she told me her specifications! She's an extremely talented graphic artist and crafty herself (but hates to sew) so I was under the gun!

Clairekp

I love your quilt! It would look good on a sofa, bed or lap! What size did it finish up?

Kathie

Clairekp thank you! It ended up to be a lap size quilt. I'm not sure where she has it . . . I was just visiting her a few weeks ago and didn't see it grin !

Daughters are dreadful! wink I don't think they realise just how much time and effort (and hpw much of YOURSELF) you put into a project! I'm sure she has it somewhere safe.... Well done you!
