I love this fabric and it is gorgeous in this pattern...some good sewing time was had from the looks of it! Very pretty:-)
Looking good so far.
I know what you were doing today!! Looks great Caribousmom! Cathie and I were jealous all day!!
Yes we were. We GOT to win that lottery so we can all stay home and quilt. Wendy, I do not know how you do it with a pattern that is off but this is beautiful. n(more so in person). I just love that large and I do mean large pin wheel block. This fabric seems very different to me then I am used to seeing you use. I love it and can't wait to see it all together.
Oh ya, this is some of the best feeling fabric I have ever got to fondel.
Thanks Wendy. Always have such a great time sewing with you and Conni.
I'm game....what can we swipe next time?
Conniharns I'm putting those little tags like the stores use on my quilts, crock pot, and any projects...then when you try to walk out the door, alarms will sound LOL.
Okay, I am researching how to "Jam" alarms!
Caribousmom LOL about alarms!! I am so impressed you got this far and are having to correct pattern as you go. One of my fears in using other's patterns is this issue. I just purchased a pattern for the first time in a long time and sure hope it is right!
True This is the first time I've encountered an issue with a poor pattern. When I first bought this kit, I started cutting the fabric and fell WAY short...supposedly they corrected the pattern, and sent me extra fabric. But, the last block was significantly changed in terms of size of pieces (they had me originally cut 10.5" squares, but the "fix" says 10-7/8" squares...and I don't have the fabric to recut these). I'm getting creative because I refuse to buy more fabric! LOL. I have some extra of other fabric, so my block is going to look a little different than the original.I will be very reluctant to purchase another kit by Art Gallery unless it is months after the release...
This is coming out great. I know that it has given you a hard time but it is really pretty and the fabric has such a great feel to it. Can't want to see it finished and in person.
I am so glad you have figured out a way to finish this one as I so love how gorgeous it is but it has been a royal pain in the butt! You deserve a stick to it award;-)
I can just picked you all cuddled up in this quilt with a nice, warm cup of coffee.
This is so gorgeous- I'm working with the same fabric line and you're right- it has a wonderful silky feel- I too am at batting stage- so please let me know what you pick, as I hadn't even thought about that- was just going to use Cream Rose- my ususal go-to thin batting- is there a better choice?
Mymble I am thinking of using Tuscany cotton batting - my local store carries it and it is WAY lighter (and less stiff) than warm and white so I think it might work nicely. My other choice would be wool (very light weight but warm)...except I think I want the wrinkles in this :)
Quilt455 ...and a good book :)
True We should have a badge that says: Stuck with it Despite the Headaches! LOL
Caribousmom So glad to know about the Tuscany- I will check it out at my LQS- lighter sounds good!!!
Beautiful rich colors yet still soft! I t sounds like it's a real treat to touch but not so great to work with the pattern. Sorry you're having such a struggle but you will finish it just because of the fabric. I've never heard of Tuscany or Cream Rose so thanks for the lesson. I always get Warm & Natural because it's such a good deal on sale at JoAnn's.
Of course I meant Picture you. And I am sooooooooooooo glad you can find the coffee. hehehehe
Glad to see that you are working on this one since I think it is going to be beautiful when you are do!!! Sorry your thumb is bothering you again. I can't even think of a way you could stablize it while trying to quilt. You would know more about that then me. The fabric is so soft and beautiful, can't wait to see it in person all finished.
This is so beautiful! You have picked adorable fabrics!
Beautiful fabrics- sorry this has been so vexing- who would think a pattern could give so many troubles:(((
Mymble no kidding! Everything that could go wrong has gone wrong with this one - but I DO love the fabric...so my hope it that once it is done and washed and crinkly, I will find some love in my heart for it!
LOL- oh yes, all will be forgiven by then:)
Very pretty colors. Sounds like it was an intertesting project.
Wow yes it was a pain and yes you are glad it is over (sure hope your thumb is ok) but boy it is gorgeous done! Love all of it (easy for me to say I know) and as always I offer my address if you happen to really hate it a month from now;-) Truly lovely.
True LOL - thanks! It has a really lovely "hand" because of those butter soft fabrics (although I think a lot of my pinning and quilting issues were directly related to the softness of the fabrics).
Beautiful finish! I hope your thumb is feeling better soon and that you get lot's of relax time out of this beauty!:)))
this is gorgeous! I'm glad you made it to the finish!
It is beautiful! I hope in a few days (okay may be weeks) that you come to love it. It really is wonderful
YAY for your finish! It is beautiful and you can almost feel how soft it is by the soft colors. Hope your thumb recovers!!!
This became so beautiful quilt! The pattern is wonderful even you had enough troubles with it. x Teje
It is even better in person!
love this quilt
