Description

I decided that the only way I was ever going to get any quilts made for myself was to participate in online quilting bees. The set-up of this one is fun, there are seven people in each "Hive" who all determine their own color scheme. Then each person uses her own fabric stash to make the same block for everyone else but in the different color schemes that were chosen. The bee runs for 2.5 months and you can sign up to participate four times a year. Flickr group is here.

I chose a pattern and made a tester block in my own color scheme (black, white, and cobalt blue). When that turned out alright, I started on the other six.

11/18/12: Finished the other four blocks yesterday and will be sending them to my hive mates as soon as I can remember to bring them to work with me.

Beautiful! Isn't fun to see how different the same block can look with color changes?

Damascst

Janquilter I think that's my favorite part about making the same block over and over. :)

So agree it is fun to see it in different colors! I like them all but love the black, white and blue one...

Yes, really fun to look at that block in different colors. Thanks for sharing the tutorial from The Noble Wife-had fun looking at all of the beautiful pictures on that blog!
