Description

Hooray for reading glasses! I can cross stitch again after giving it up in my 40's ! I saw this cute Advent Calendar Cross Stitch Along by The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery and couldn't resist (I'm never going to finish my Christmas gifts).

I forgot how addicting cross stitching is, you always want to see how the next section is going to look.

I started out with Oatmeal Aida 14 which you can see was just too light to show up the white in the pattern. Instead of outlining I decided to start over and found this Beige that seems to be working. I'm glad I decided to just start again because it the design really pops with this background. I'm not brave enough to use just linen yet.

Each week I get five more designs to add. I'm only 2 weeks behind  but I'm having fun!

I love this pattern - I've seen a few others stitching it up and it just looks so sweet.

I'm a sucker for cute holiday projects! My girls aren't into the cutesy crafts but my daughter-in-law is so I have someone who appreciates them in the family now!

That is such a sweet design and your stitching is lovely. I know exactly what you mean about glasses. It helps a lot if we can see! The oatmeal aida is absolutely perfect. Out of all the different fabrics, aida is still my favourite. Linen isn't as scary or difficult as what you may think. Start with something little and a good contrast in colour between the linen and the thread, as it makes it much easier to see! The needle goes in every second hole, instead of every first, like aida.....before you know it, you will have finished!
