Description

These pillowcases are the most fun to make and a great gift. I don't usually spend this much on a pillowcase for myself but they sure are cute! I used french seams for a really nice finish and made several in various fabrics. Right now I'm working on some for myself!

August, 2012: I'm still making pillowcases! (iphone pics don't show very well). I found a better tutorial that I thought I"d add by "twiddletails".  I make my trim larger than the tutorial but it's a good reference.

Ohh, I really like the ones with the green fabric. I looked around online at some tutorials for these, but I couldn't figure out what makes them "magic."

Try http://www.allpeoplequilt.com/millionpillowcases/freepatterns/ at allpeoplequilt.com. I also bought a pattern which is why I have an extra contrasting border. The magic is that after laying down the ironed pieces and pinning, you roll it up in a tube to stitch together and you don't see seams in the cuff. Lots of fun and then I finished them by sewing french seams.

Oh, I get it, how cool! Thanks for the link.

I've just been amazed at the wonderful patterns that are out there now. And the tutorials are wonderful. I've been sewing for over 35 years and I think the fabric is more beautiful now and the sewing community much more vibrant smiley . Of course it just may be because we can communicate more with great tools like Threadbias.
