Description

04/27/13: On the quilt wall, awaiting selection and placement of the corner squares for the sashing.

04/28/13: Corner squares placed, now on to cutting out sashing.

05/04/13: Main quilt top done. Border 1 going on next. Border 2 makes me nervous.

05/17/13: Top done. Now to pick out back/border and get it on the frame for quilting.

07/12/13: Went to load it into the frame to quilt and discovered that the sheet I'd bought for the back is too small. :-/ Do I get another sheet? Or pony up for actual fabric. It's 67x95". That's going to take almost 6 yards of regular width fabric. Decisions...

07/15/13: Ordered 110" backing fabric, so it only took 2 yards. Woo! Went with something COMPLETELY different (big black and white daisies!) because I always like that look on a quilt. May jump something else in the queue while I wait for my order to arrive. So exciting!

What a cool quilt...how did you make the stars with the outline?

Mouseinmypocket

Very nice. Good luck with those borders. Can't wait to see them on.

True This was something I started years ago after watching an episode of Fons & Porter's show. They did this cool free-form thing that was super easy to understand, even without a pattern. http://www.qnntv.com/videos/2188-learn-free-hand-cutting-method-for-lucky-stars/

Looks good!!

This went together well. Are you hand quilting it?

This is cool! Love the shapes and very much like the primary solids you've chosen for the border - that works brilliantly with the slightly subdued colours of the rest of the quilt. smile

Can't figure out how to edit previous post (not sure I can) - I should have said: "stronger solids" rather than primary, which they obviously aren't - duh!
