Description

I made this quilt for my middle grandson. He is 12 years old and marches to the beat of his own drum. I made this quilt for his birthday/Christmas present. I got it in the mail and I can't wait until Christmas day to know if he likes it.

I made this quilt after watching a Youtube video by Missouri Star Quilt Co. called Jelly Roll Race Quilt. I bought the fabric from their shop and it is called, Monster Bash by Moda. It was really fast to put the top together and when you use jelly rolls, all the fabric is already coordinated for indecisive people like me.

It took me about two hours(getting up and down fromt he machine) to put the top together. I used basting spray to layer the quilt and that is my method of choice now. It was so fast to get the top, batting, and back layered and ready to quilt. I followed the method given by Patsy Thompson on Youtube. I am learning to machine quilt, so I did a meander all over the quilt. The ghosts were an afterthought and I got the idea from Marjory over at Peck's Pieces. I added them to the quilt after it was quilted and used glow-in-the-dark thread to attach them.
