Christmas Table Runner by Kristananne
I've had some Joy by Kate Spain for quite some time now. 4 charm packs, and some yardage to be exact. It was originally going to be used to make a quilt, but I've since decided to go in a different direction for the Christmas quilt (so it probably won't happen this year!). Since I have all this Joy fabric on hand now, I figured I should use it to make some decorations for my house. So here's a table runner I'm working on. I designed it in my head as I went along, no pattern. A wonky white star, some random patchwork, and of course there will be some hand embroidery thrown in for good measure. The embroidery was done by tracing a font I have on my computer for the "merry Christmas" and by tracing the Christmas lights print from the Joy fabric. I think I will quilt on either side of the seams in the patchwork areas, save the star - which I will echo hand quilt with chunky red pearl cotton #5 on the interior of the star. Not sure how to quilt the negative space on the embroidered section yet.
