Description

I had a bunch of scraps. This looked like fun. I tried it, I liked it.
The tutorial calls for 1.5" wide strips; I tend to cut my scraps into 1" wide strips, so that's what I used. I also did not make my hotpad 10"x10"...I think it's actually 7"x9".
I did, however, finally figure out how to get the binding perfectly sized so there is no bulkiness. (That was probably the biggest lesson I learned! And I am so happy about that!)

I am loving all this Christmas cheer! What did you use for batting? And what IS the trick to eliminate the bulkiness? Oops, just saw the tutorial button so perhaps the secret is there. Anyway, I love your happy hot pad.

Terryt1955 I used Insul-bright for batting. (I tend to stock up on batting when it goes on sale, so I always have it on hand.)
The trick for binding, I actually got from a youtube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PgX_gGJYEac&feature=g-hist (You may have to cut & paste the link.)
