Description

I finally am participating in my first swap.  (I have to tell you that my stomach is in knots over this.  I'm always so nervous that my recipient won't like what I make.)  But I pushed passed all of that.  So hopefully I can get over it and keep doing these.

I didn't use a tutorial - just made it up on my own.  (Small pieces sewn together and then drew a mitten)  Back is a red dot fabric with a braided yard string hooking them together, which also lets you hang them on the tree.  (do you remember having your mittens hooked through your coat?)

ohh they are adorable .. I still remeber the times I had those kind of connected mittens. Later it became "clip on mittens" still have the clips, they are quite usefull..
Seems you already have the tree up, taht makes for a lovely picture.

Very cute! We don't need mittens too often here but I've always loved them for my children.

Melanie

Kathie Yes, we don't really need mittens very often here either. :-) Although my kids are kinda wimpy when it gets the least bit cold! lol

Melanie

Strandkorbtraum Thanks! yes, we put our tree up Thanksgiving weekend. Then my husband takes it down usually on Christmas day (he gets bored with a day off. lol)

These are so stinkin cute! I love the nordic feel!

Strandkorbtraum

Melanie oh my that's early .. we don't even get our tree until the 23rd or 24th, and we never ever put it up before. We do a "Christmas" cleaning on the 24th and then once the dinner is started and everything is simmer ing and baking or resting we put up the tree... which goes down on the 6th again...

Love these!! You did a great job! I can't believe you made them without a pattern of any sort.

Would you please make me some that are big enough to wear? They are just so cute! And yes I remember having my mittens hooked!

Melanie

Strandkorbtraum I think that sounds like a lovely tradition! I can just imagine the wonderful smells, and warmth with some hot cocoa and music while putting up the tree! I get antsy and would put it up before Thanksgiving if my husband wouldn't freak out. lol - I love Christmas - it's my very favorite (and the only holiday for which I decorate.)

Melanie

Jessicalam lol - maybe I'll try making a full sized pair....lined with that wonderful nubby fleece material (can't think of what it's properly called.) Or maybe I'll do an oven mitt. ?!?!? smile

Jessicalam

That sounds awesome! If you end up doing it, please post photos!

Justine
