What a wonderful gift this will be and love fabrics!
A very special gift.
I LOVE this story...speaks to what I do, foster care and quilts for babies. This will be beautiful...love the teddy bears and the colors. Can't wait to see it come together.
Wow you are moving! Love the pictures in the center so sweet.
I love how this has turned out! The colors are wonderful and it is just sweet and precious for a baby girl.
WOW Love this and you are fast!! I have no ideas for large squares since I think it looks awesome like it is...
Loving this- don't know what more you need to do to it- it looks wonderful!
I'm really glad the colours are judged to be fine for a girl (because it really hurt to mak everythign pink and purple - I did manage to sneak in some blue and red in the backing)
Ahh I have to be fast - I promised I would be fast, and it should be in the post on Saturday preferably.
Ahh no ideas for the big squares - that's a problem, I don't like having all those seems without something securing them - children are not gentle with their things, and it will probably get a lot of washing and tugging (what do you call that if you hold on to something and take it along with you, everywhere). Aye well maybe some "distress" can solve it....
Love that binding!
True can you see the sun on the picture? it makes the binding look good and it made me very happy ... I feel like I haven't seen the sun in weeks
Strandkorbtraum oh I hate when it has been like that...we have had some glorious sunshine and I love it...cold but gorgeous. And it looks lovely on binding;-)
I wash mine using normal wash cycle and cold water setting and just put them through I do use what we call a color catcher not sure what it would be for you. And I dry on medium dry cycle of my dryer and they come out wonderful! Cannot wait to see pictures of it done:-)
This is so cute and you finished so fast! Great job!
I wash all my quilts in the washing machine, cold setting with a tiny amount of soap (teaspoon amount!) Then toss in the dryer. I love how soft and crinkly they come out of the dryer.
(When a child takes their blanket with them everywhere, its sometimes called "dragging" it around with them...my son had a blanket he dragged everywhere with him!)
Love the binding-looks like candy:))))- and I wash in cold water, minimal soap, tumble dry for a few minutes and a light iron if it needs it- which it usually does. If it has a real spill on it- food or something then I would probably pre-treat with detergent and use warm water with a cold rinse.
Mymble Laweigel True aww thanks all of you - now I can really finish it.
So the general idea seems to be 0°C, fine materials program, and a tea spoon of detergent.
And tumble dry it - hmm I will have to figure out how the tumble dryer works.
Should I add something else, that makes mass and fills the machine? so there will be less stress on the quilt? or put it inside a pillow cover?
You did a marvellous job. Love the binding. It really finishes the quilt off.
Strandkorbtraum I always put something else in with it for balance...a couple towels, sheets or whatever I have that needs washing. But not jeans or heavy clothes.
True It's done now - added a bed-set (pillow cover and blanket cover) and put the quilt inside the cover it turned out lovely .. sadly I have been waiting all day for some sun nothing so far ... and it's already pretty low again so I doubt I will get any ...
Strandkorbtraum Well congrats on the finish and so glad it came out well we will patiently wait for the sun and pictures. Our sun just came up about an hour ago and it is a gorgeous day at moment!
