Description

This is a quilt for our bed, using Moda's Aster Manor. I've been collecting the fabrics in the collection for about a year and a half- pieced the center last year and finally collected enough for the borders and some shams, as well as a FQ set for a larger quilt to go with it. This one will have a thinner cotton batting and the larger quilt will have a higher loft batting- and I may sneak in a bit more pattern and design in the larger quilt;)

I'm debating between some really nice muslin or some brown Kona for the back but I need to make up my mind soon as I hope to have it and at least the shams on the bed by Christmas:)

Update 12/15/13  Finished and currently undergoing rigorous napping testing:)  I did stitch in the ditch and then diagonals, along with some straight line quilting along the borders. I wound up going with the Kona brown- very heavy but worked well with the thinner cotton batting.  So far, the napping experiment is going well but further testing is definitely needed.

I saw the pictures on IG - love the pieced back. Such soft colors you used - very nice!

What gorgoeus fabric! Love how you let it take center stage...and the official testing is very, very important!;-). Lovely finish

True Thanks Mary- I do so love this fabric- bought a lot of it last year with the idea of doing two quilts and some pillows- almost halfway there;)...and yes, the nap test is crucial:)
