Description

Just a quick little quilt for my niece Grace.  I'd made another quilt for her sister Eva, ^nine-patch-snowballs. Grace was sad and wanted one too.  Oh things always need to be even-steven with kids. Heh.  So yeah.  I'm now trying to hurry and make her a quilt too before Christmas.

All the fabrics are Valori Wells.  I used a charm pack of Novella (FreeSpirit) for the front and the back is Owl Friends by Valori Wells for Della Flannel.

Yay all done!  I wrapped it up before I could get a good picture of it finished but hopefully I'll be able to get a good shot after she's opened it.

True

Oh you will be making someone so happy!!! And I know your quilting will be amazing:-)

Caribousmom

I love the simplicity of this quilt - sometimes just squares of really pretty fabric is all we need. I sometimes need to remind myself that it doesn't have to be complicated to be beautiful!!

Jenniffier

What a super cute quilt. I am sure it will be loved.

True

Jennifleur your quilting is just exquisite I cannot imagine being able to quilt like this...it is all FMQ? And do you draw lines on quilt or just go for it...amazing.

Terryt1955

I'm right with True asking the same questions. The first thing I noticed was the wonderful quilting! All that great white space is happy!

Kathie

Ok, me three! I am in awe of those who can FMQ so beautifully! This is just beautiful!

Sewnsew

Me four! It is a beautiful gift.

Conniharns

I agree..this is so beautiful and I love the quilting? Like everyone before me.....how did u do that?!!

Silsbee

It's lovely. I really like what can be done with charm packs. And your quilting is amazing. :)

Jennifleur

True she snuggled right up in it!

Jennifleur

Caribousmom it was fun to have a very simply pieced top and then go kinda nuts with the quilting. smile

Jennifleur

Jenniffier she did totally love it.

Jennifleur

True it's all FMQ except for the straight line SITD. Sometimes I use templates to mark out a pattern and sometimes I just mark out guidelines so the quilting pattern is evenly spaced and sometimes I just get crazy and jump in with nothin'. wink

Silsbee Thanks!

I can hardly wait until I have the confidence to just jump in and go nuts with FMQ. Then again I need to start with practice sandwiches which I STILL have yet to do. But you do truly (I looked it up!) inspire the chickens like me!

Jennifleur

Terryt1955 You can do it! You can do it! smile What's the worst that can happen?

Terryt1955

I'm on the home stretch of my Thumb_f3fe4a935ba872acc6736be317c16bda Tied and True so I've promised myself now is the time to dive in to the FMQ. "I think I can, I think I can" (just saw Dumbo the other day!)

Jennifleur

Terryt1955 You totally can!!

Rebeccajeffsmith

I wish I had your confidence as a MQ. Feathers have to be some of the hardest quilting, but yours looks so nice! Great job!!!

Jennifleur

Rebeccajeffsmith REally? I think they're a lot easier then some of the other patterns I've quilted. They flow so easily! I can see why people get hung up using them all the time... fun, fun, fun!
