Description

I'd been wanting to do a Disappearing 9-Patch for awhile--it just looked like a hoot. So, when it came time for the Black Friday Sew-In, I decided it looked like a perfect project to get done in a day. Well, at least I got the top pieced in a day, then it took another couple of weeks to get it totally finished. But that was simply because I shunted other projects in line ahead of finishing it. This is a super-fast, really fun way to do a gift or donation quilt, or even just something to keep you warm when the temperatures start dropping! This began as a Moda Charm Pack, "Portugal." Since I was making it for someone in a wheelchair I needed to make it rectangular so added wider top and bottom borders than side borders. That's not normally a design choice I'd make but I was going for "fast," here, plus "what I had in my stash." Actually, I do think it worked. But note to self for future reference: two charm packs!

I just did a simple meander in yellow in the center, and dark red in the borders.

It'll be a Christmas gift for a friend. I think she'll really love it--a nice bright spot in her apartment!

Love this and I LOVE this fabric I have a wall quilt done in it and also used in my wonky star quilt. Would love more of it...

True It is a very pretty line. I'd forgotten I even had the charm pack until I went digging through my stash that morning!

Sandyquiltz I added a line called Paisley (or something with that in name) that came out at same time and they were lovely together. It is this quilt New Beginnings
