Description

We're doing a gift exchange at work.  I pulled the name of a dear co-worker who's the sweetest, nicest woman that I just adore.  I knew exactly what I wanted to make for her, it's an old pattern from Country Stitches called Angel of My Heart #143.  The only thing I had to purchase was new acrylic paint for her feet, everything else was from existing fabric and craft stash I already had.  I really like how she came out and can't wait for her to be unwrapped tomorrow afternoon.

Her body parts were sewn together, turned right side out, then tea dyed and dried in the oven before stuffing.  Feet and eyes are painted with acrylic paint and I used blush to give her rosy cheeks.  The hearts on her dress are sewn on with floss using the blanket stitch and her feet are also stitched with floss using a cross-stitch "X".  I added a wire hook between her halo and wings so she can be hung to give you an option to sit her on a shelf or hang her on the wall or as in my pictures from the knob of my china hutch.  I also painted the star and then using fine sandpaper, gently rubbed the edges of each point to add some character and natural ware to the star.  As is typical of me, I also signed and dated her "bottom".  LOL

Conniharns We did gifts today and she was so excited and told me that she may have to keep her up all year long. She was thrilled it was something handmade by me. That makes all the effort so worth it to know that it's so appreciated.
