Cute nautical theme. Can't wait to see it finished!
It is looking great. The fabrics are cuter than cute!
Very cute. What will go on the back, and how will you quilt it? Is a disappearing nine patch made by making a nine patch block, cutting it in fourths, and rotating the sections?
Thank you Rebeccajeffsmith Sewnsew and Momver this fabric is so cute and so soft! I am not sure about back yet...I was going to order some of the blue map fabric but love the navy little boy pirates so may go with that...need to make up my mind and order it! and I will use some sort of straight line quilting as that is what I do best. Not sure I can FMQ something this size with success. And yes a disappearing nine patch is made by cutting in fourths...I also then mix up the "new blocks" to reassemble I know people do it differently. The tutorial button shows what I think I will do for this one as it adds sashing which I have never done before. This is a quilt I made using the method I have done for two quilts before As the Bee Flies
It'll look fabulous like that one, True!
I love this line of fabric. It is so perfect for a baby boy! Since he's going to be doted on why not call it "Life's a Breeze".
I just saw the picture of your dogs in the snow! They are beautiful! They would like to come in for popcorn and cocoa
This is looking oh so cute. LOVE the cornerstone and sashing idea, especially the fussy cutting of the cornerstones. I'm sure we are going to see this top completed in no time! I wish I had your speed!
These fabrics work so well with this pattern. Love it. I've pinned various disappearing nine patches but never tried one. Looking forward to seeing it progress.
Hey Terryt1955.... True has speed now because of her new "rippy zippy" Turbo powered machine!!! That's the first thing I thought of when I saw this beautiful top done already!,
LOL Terryt1955 and Conniharns I am far from having this top done so not sure about that speed thing!! Sewing on sashing and cornerstones could take me a while even with rippy zippy help;-) Readerowl than you...I have to say I have loved the disappearing nine patches I have done - great pattern for a collection. I have never added sashing before to this pattern so this will be a first.
So cute! A perfect little boy quilt.
Great pattern and the colors are awesome - love the orange.
Tinastitches thank you the fabric really is just perfect for a boy...got some of thinner sashing on today but still a ways to go!
Seshlaman Thank you! The orange is really red in real life:-). Just the bad lighting or my poor photography skills;-)
Wow, this quilt really caught my eye! It's wonderful!!
Chrissybugs thank you...I am really pleased with it at this point...and so is my friend. So fingers crossed when it comes time to quilt!
OH MY GOODNESS!! I don't know how I missed those fabulous little ship's wheel cornerstones the first time around but those are too freakin' adorable!!!! They just make me smile and are sure to melt the hearts of the grandparents and mom-to-be....and everyone else. ;)
Good to see you're enjoying your new machine! :)
Allpatchedup thank you...just finished quilting it and now just need a label (waiting on grandma for name) and binding....
How exciting that you've already finished the quilting! DId you drop the feed dogs to be able to do that little loopy thing or were you able to do it with your regular quilting foot? So cute! Are you going to keep up the steam and work on the binding tonight? How are you doing with all that snow being dumped on the east coast?
Terryt1955 That loop is on fabric I did not do it...it is map for treasure;-). I was thinking if I could FMQ I could imitate it but since I don't... And no I do not stay up and quilt or actually anything. If I do not get sleep I am no good to anyone AND I tend to get sick. So hopefully will get to it tomorrow. We are a little buried, 36 inches worth! But otherwise ok:-)
Yay for you!! Good luck on finishing it up. Definitely get some rest True , you need to stay healthy now!!! Quilter's orders. :P
Sorry to hear about your snow....much of it missed us thankfully, we only got about a foot or so (I think...looks like a foot to me but then I'll hear it was like 20 inches or somesuch thing :D ha!)
True It is, but I've lived here all my life and we usually have more by now, so it doesn't seem to phase me as much I suppose. These mild winters we've had the last few years were nice (we had 80's last February...I'd take some of those days right about now!!!!), but I knew they wouldn't last!
True, I love this quilt. Red, blue and yellow are my colors for my living space and I just totally love the combination. This is a great pattern for a baby quilt. Glad you are enjoying your new machine.
Allpatchedup I know what you mean by a foot seeming like nothing! I must say I have always lived in north and I miss when we have no snow plus it worries me. But I did not know what we got yesterday was truly possible!
Oh I hear ya True . It's like if we don't have any/much snow, we're all on edge just waiting for the 'big one' (that we all know is coming) to hit!! LOL
And I love the new name!
I love how this turned out!
This is SO cute! Love everything about it and I can totally relate to your elation as you quilt on your new machine. Isn't it amazing what a difference it makes? I'm over the moon with mine too...
Oh my gosh, I WANT ONE! :D
True, you have done a marvellous job!
True, GREAT job!!! Love the colors and the design, the baby will be entranced I am sure!
Really wonderful-love everything you did with it! I have the pink bundle and have been trying to figure out a plan- great inspiration!!
This is really cute. Love the fussy cut cornerstones!
True We can be our own worse enemies sometimes can't we? I remind myself that if it was perfect it would have been made on a machine. It works....sometimes! lol
What an adorable quilt! I love the binding ... and, well, just everything!
Caribousmom Thank you so much! It is now in the grandmother's hands and will be given to mom to be this weekend!
How adorable is it in that nursery!?! :)
This really is the lovely quilt - I'm sure Sawyer is enjoying it immensely. Great colours that will be able to grow with him as he gets older...
True Oh my! Well we'll need an update pic with him and the quilt together... good luck to all!
I love the quilt you made! I really like the yellow in there, but hubby didn't want yellow in ours. You have so many cute details - all the fussy cut squares. I think you chose the perfect quilting, too!
