I won the "Modern Log Cabin Quilting" book at last month's PMQG meeting. The plan at first was to make a four-block wall hanging using the Modern Cross pattern. Then I went shopping for fabric and got kind of carried away, and on Christmas Day spent aaalllll day making 13 blocks. (I didn't even finish the blocks -- how do people whip these things up so fast????) So I got them all together and was not at all happy with the quality of my blocks -- too many puckers -- and was reminded why I prefer making art quilts. It wasn't just the puckers turning me off, though. The color scheme is so not me, I had no plan for the quilt, no place for it, and no one in mind to gift it to. So I figured why spend any more time on it when I've got so many other projects?
Anyway, I'm back to the four-patch wall hanging, and now I'm just trying to decide how to quilt it. The binding will match each block. That's the plan, anyway.
