Description

I am making this for Daniela - hence the name of the quilt. She was my manager until last year and she picked out the fabrics herself! I really didn't have her down as such a traditional person, but the fabrics, although not my normal choice, are beautiful. the finished quilt will be so delicate - not my normal style - it's quite refreshing really.

I got the fabrics nearly a year ago, started, and then abandoned it. I came back to it earlier this week and I wished I had made more notes on the pattern, because I'm doing a bigger version than the one int he instructions. It took me hours to get my head round it, so now I want to get it pieced before I forget again! I have also included it as a goal in Q1 Finish Along.

The fabrics are Durham fabrics (I think) from Lecien.

29.03.2013: this quilt is a monster. I have finished piecing the top and it is 116x116". Mum and Dad struggled to hold it up and basting it in the living room was very interesting. But it's done. The backing is 120" wide Moda Muslin.

14.04.2013: quilted. I wrestled the monster through my machine and tamed it with 1500m of thread (21 bobbins for bottom)!

10.05.2013: it's done! Bound and everything. I have to confess, I'm not sorry to see the back of this one! But I've learned a lot about my own tastes in doing this quilt.

Jenniesthreads It looks great! I have a stack of early Robyn Pandolph fabrics that I'm hoarding for that elusive "perfect" project to come along... I just love shabby chic.
