Description

I have a number of quilt projects in progress (all of which are moving at a very slow rate) so I wanted something that could produce some "instant gratification." This pincushion and thread catcher has been on my to-do list for awhile. I had seen a number of these pincushions online and one blogger had used a great fabric which I was able to find as well (see the tutorial blog link below).

I altered the pattern just a bit by attaching velcro under the "petals" so that the thread catcher is detachable.

I really love this pattern and now that I've made one I fully intent to make a few more for the quilty - sewing friends!

Brilliant!

It is really lovely with great fabric. I do the instant gratification thing, too!

Carolmarie Thanks! I usually use plastic yogurts containers - but this definitely looks better!

So much nicer than plastic yogurt containers! I like the size of the catcher too. You can really fill that baby up before having to stop and empty it. Thanks for the tutorial link, I need to do this for myself and it's a great idea for some ladies in my quilt group.

Terryt1955 Definitely beats the plastic yogurt containers... which I have used by the way... I really do like it - and it was fun to make!
